WORKSHOPTAB 2

Optimally equipped for the future 
WorkshopTab 2 is the latest "all in one" solution for your workshop. Tachographs can be checked and calibrated directly on the vehicle, whilst the software takes care of the paperwork in the background. The relevant documents are transferred from the vehicle to the printer at the push of a button. WorkshopTab 2 reduces the risk of error as well as the time for the checks. With WorkshopTab 2, you are future proofing your workshop for SMART Tachograph 2 and beyond.

With VDO WorkshopTab 2 the KITAS 4.0 sensor paired with the installed DTCO®  can be registered, together with the respective sensor to gearbox seal, during initial installation. This information can be checked/updated at subsequent calibration to ensure full traceability. With the integrated WorkshopTab camera, you can easily register the KITAS and the new seal by scanning the QR code. VDO also offers you a practical cloud solution for the corresponding documentation of KITAS 4.0 and the new seal.

The new intelligent tachograph DTCO® 4.0 uses the GNSS global satellite architecture. An appropriate GNSS calibration is required to ensure that the vehicle position can always be accuratley indicated. This calibration can be performed easily directly via the WorkshopTab. No additional equipment is necessary. If you are unable to receive a sufficiently strong signal in your workshop, we offer you the GNSS Repeater Kit, a technology that amplifies the satellite signal. This allows you to achieve optimum measurement results in any workshop.

The WorkshopTab and a corresponding accessory - The practical DSRC Meter from VDO - make testing the DSRC interface integrated in the DTCO® 4.0 very simple. The DSRC Meter simulates a check by control officers and sends the result to your WorkshopTab. It can either be mounted permanently in your workshop or on a tripod.

The WorkshopTab 2 is the latest updated version of the WorkshopTab 1, providing the same common calibration functions but with additional functionality and the following advantages:

  • Larger - Screen size has increased by 20% to 29.5 centimeters

  • Clearer - Content on the display remains visible even in direct sunlight and appears natural and true to colour
  • More robust - All edges are made of hard rubber to protect impact areas

  • New features such as the card slot is replaceable and better integrated meaning that the workshop card is better protected

 

The service agreement is a 36-month option that ensures your workshop tab is always up to date and includes all software and/or license updates released by Continental during the next agreement period. The objective is to make sure your tablet is always up to date and future proofs your workshop to SMART Tachograph 2 and beyond, including whatever new regulations may be issued. The contract features include:

  • Automatic on-line updates whenever a new piece of software or license is released
  • 3-year extended warranty
  • 3 years of tablet calibrations
  • Service hotline
  • Quick replacement service
  • Seal and KITAS tracking software
  • VDO Hub (training, online database, technical data and much more)
  • 2 x Elearning recert courses within the 36 months

  • Option to include relevant brake tester or rolling road silver service within the contract

NB: This does not include any new cables or hardware.

Please note: The service agreement is available to be added to a Workshop Tab 1, subject to it being no older than 2 years old.

New unit can be purchased without an agreement, i.e. buying as you go. There are various packages available and new units could be offered at a discounted price if you have an existing Workshop Tab 1 which is being returned, subject to terms and conditions of the offer.

With the WorkshopTab you can make any settings for the different DTCO® variants, whether OEM or a universal device.

Important: Programming DTCO® 3.0 universial devices according to the various vehicle manufacturer paramaters and setting up individual CAN data acquisition is only possible with the Workshop Tablet.
